I know I have made you wait a while for this, but finally here is my drugstore makeup products worth the hype post!
The Claims : Pore-minimizing, absorbs oil, natural matte finish
Maybelline’s Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation comes in 40 shades and is designed for normal to oily skin. It contains blurring micro-powders to simultaneously erase pores and absorb oil. I really like this foundation because it gives a really nice finish to the skin that isn’t too drying or cakey. During winter months, I just add in a few drops of face oil for my perfect finish. I have the shade 220 Natural Beige, but with 40 shades to choose from, you will surely find a shade close to your skin tone. At just $7.99, I would recommend checking this out if you have normal to oily skin. If you have normal to dry skin, Maybelline also has a Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation that might work for you.
The Claims : Creamy formula, easy to blend, does not crease, lasts all day
The NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in the shade milk was highly raved about at one point and for good reason. This pencil is so multipurpose and the perfect white shade. You can run it on the lower waterline to make your eyes look bigger. You can pat it on the lid to intensify an eyeshadow color on top. My personal favorite way to use it is on the inner corners of the eye because it really brightens the whole look. At just $4.49, this pencil comes in a bunch of shades, although I have not tried them.
The Claims : set makeup, keeps makeup dry, no caking, no pigment
This powder is very inexpensive ($12) and has a lot of product (3oz). I also love that it is completely colorless. However, I don’t like the packaging because it is very messy. I suggest putting this powder into a separate powder container if you have one. This powder can also be pretty drying. It works fine on my face, but it gets pretty dry under my eyes. Overall, for the price, it’s amazing, but there are better powders out there.
The Claims : silky volume, lashes are feathery to the touch, very black
Everyone has been talking about this mascara lately and I love it. It only costs $9.99, is ultra black, and easy to apply. I also like the sleek pink packaging similar to the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. The first time I used it, I wasn’t impressed. However, after it dried just a little bit, it gives me beautiful voluminous, long lashes that hold a curl all day in just one coat. I would highly recommend giving this mascara a try.
The Claims : moisturizing, brighten skin tone, smooth skin texture, gorgeous bronze finish
At 14.99, this bronzer is a little pricey for the drugstore, but it is great. There are two shades, light bronzer and bronzer. I have the shade bronzer and it is the perfect tone to warm up the skin. The moisturizing butters it is infused with make the bronzer melt into the skin effortlessly. It comes with a weird sponge applicator that I haven’t used and a built in mirror. This bronzer performs just as well as high end bronzers so I would definitely recommend it.
For the price, all of these products are great. I think the bronzer is my favorite, but it is also the most expensive product. This is the last set of worth the hype posts for a little while. Let me know if you would be interested in any other series in the comments below. See you in my next post!
