Quick Protein Breakfast

 

As the school year continues to pick up, the days get busier and busier.  It may become a habit to be running out the door without eating anything for breakfast.  But as everyone knows, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it should be treated as such.  Therefore, I present a breakfast idea that will leave you ready for whatever challenges the day will bring.

Grab a packet of instant oatmeal and mix in hot water until it reaches the desired consistency.  Then, get out a tub of nut butter (peanut, almond, etc.)

Take one spoonful of your chosen nut butter (I’m using the organic peanut butter from Whole Foods) and mix it in.  This will thicken the consistency, add protein and flavor, and keep you fuller longer.

For crunch, I add in some chopped nuts.  At the moment, my favorite is pecans.  Last but not least, instead of adding sugar, sprinkle on some raisins or dried fruit.

Voila!  Breakfast in three minutes!  If you want to make it even quicker, use this recipe to make overnight oats.  That way, you can just grab a jar of it on the way out the door.  Quick, healthy, and delicious!
