What I Got For My Birthday!

Being that my birthday was this past weekend, I got a bunch of exciting new things.  I am so thankful for all of the amazing gifts that I received and that I get to share them with you.  I quickly want to mention that I will not be discussing gifts of money, but if you gave that to me I wanted to let you know how grateful I am for your generosity!  This is going to be a long post so lets get into it.

From my aunt, uncle, and cousin, I got a beautiful turquoise colored bracelet/necklace.  The knots make it easy to adjust the size.

From my other aunt and uncle, I got a pretty sparkly silver headband from Scünci.

My sister got me a fuzzy purple keychain from Francesca’s.  I really wanted one of these to attach to my
purses and I finally got one.  She also got me a sparkly gold leaf headband from Francesca’s and a board game called Carcassonne.

In addition, she got me a shirt from Hollister with a nifty saying. DSCN1927
And while I love all the gifts she got me, my favorite has to go to this Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in the shade Maple, a brick red.  Bite Beauty is definitely one of
my favorite lipstick brands and I am so glad to add another one to my collection.

My grandparents really went all out because this was my sixteenth birthday.  They
let me pick out two things that I have had my eye on for a while.  The first is these chic Coach sunglasses
with tiny gold balls lining the upper rim.  There is no doubt that these will be a staple in my summer wardrobe.  The second is this gorgeous rose gold olive branch ring from Tiffany & Co.  I just love it so much!

The last group of presents is from my parents.  First, I got a pretty gold tiered necklace that I picked out from a store near my beach house.  I also got a little bag that says “sand” that I
can put things in when I got to the beach.  In addition, I got a flowery ballet pink headband (I
know, I got a lot of headbands).  For clothing, I got a two piece outfit from Hollister, a white romper from Abercombie & Fitch, a t-shirt from Francesca’s, and a pair of shorts from Lululemon.

They also got me two MantraBands-small bracelets that have encouraging mottos on them.  The gold one on the left says “Fearless” and the rose gold one on the right says “I Love You To The Moon And Back.”  The next thing that I got was a lunchbox from Vera Bradley.  The one I currently have is breaking so they got me a new one and I love the pattern!  In the cosmetic department, I got a travel size Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow It (one of my all time favorite hair products), a Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel, a Tarte Drink of H20 hydrating boost, a Coola Daydream Mineral Primer, a Fresh Sugar Sport Treatment, and a Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil.

Last but not least, I got a pair of Tory Burch flip flops.  I already have a pair and they are my absolute favorite so it is nice to have an alternative.

No matter if you got me a gift or not, thank you to everyone who thought of me on my birthday.  If you enjoyed this post, subscribe and follow @thepurplepandablog on Instagram so you won’t miss one!  Leave me some future post requests in the comments!

  1. P.S. Jasmine Hwang has a real, real good eye for photography — if she is interested in checking out my crappy photos that I call art, please have her contact my people and I will get back to her as soon as time allows.

  2. Happy Birthday, Amanda! I can’t believe you’re 16. In 4 years you will be, like, 20. I hope in 4 years I still have the pleasure of calling you my best friend. I wish you lots of luck for this upcoming year, although I know it’s unnecessary because you don’t need luck for anything — you just DO it. I’ve been your friend since we were 8 in Mrs. Honig’s 3rd grade class. (It technically started there, when I stole you away from L.O.) Every since then, you’ve been my role model. I can’t wait until we finally hang out, or else I too will assume that you were only a distant figment of my imagination.
    Happy 16th Amanda.
P.S. please let me know when I can stop by to give you your gift (no, I didn’t forget it:)
